K Tyson Law is excited to announce that Kimberly Tyson was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel (ACTC) at the January 16th, 2026, meeting. Membership in the ACTC is limited to 700 tax attorneys across the U.S. who are the top of the tax bar in the United States. Fellows must be nominated by a current Fellow to be considered, have been a member of the bar for at least 15 years, and have devoted most of their career to tax and tax-related matters.
Kimberly’s qualifications include over 25 years practicing tax law including in significant roles at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. Kim founded a private boutique tax firm in Charlotte in 2025 where she continues to practice as a tax attorney focusing on IRS tax controversies and litigation support and advisory work regarding charitable giving.
The American College of Tax Counsel is a professional organization of “an extraordinary group of America’s very best tax attorneys” who “have made exceptional contributions to their chosen profession.” Through the ACTC, members collaborate to promote sound tax policy and fair and effective tax administration.
