At K. Tyson Law, we provide tax counsel to individuals, businesses, charities, appraisers, and others. We also team up as co-counsel with other law firms requesting our help. Our attorneys have decades of combined experience working for the IRS that gives them a unique understanding of the laws and requirements for charitable contribution tax deductions and options for IRS tax dispute resolution and defense. After decades of navigating complex tax issues on behalf of the government, our attorneys bring that experience to the other side of the table.
K. Tyson Law handles federal tax issues and serves clients nationwide. Our firm focuses on tax planning and dispute resolution:
Our team litigated for the IRS, provided written guidance for the public on charitable donations, and advised top IRS executives on cutting-edge issues and significant cases. We wrote examination procedures and training materials on penalties and charitable donations and trained revenue agents on tax law. We also have experience with tax claims in bankruptcy.
Kim Tyson and Karin Gross are recognized as top of the tax bar as fellows of the American College of Tax Counsel (ACTC). ACTC fellows are peer-elected, recognizing exceptional dedication, contributions, accomplishments, and achievements related to the practice of tax law in the United States.
Our lead attorney, Kim Tyson, founded the North Carolina Bar Association Calendar Call program to help unrepresented taxpayers in North Carolina in tax court. She organizes volunteers who help guide the taxpayers during the process.
